Akina and Jun are an incredibly likable couple from Southern California who I’m honored to have photographed. They had their destination wedding at the scenic Turtle Bay Resort on Oahu’s North Shore. It was an intimate gathering of around 40 guests coordinated by Tessa Gomes of Fred and Kate Events. Some of the visual highlights for me were the bridesmaids robes, Akina’s stylish gown and shoes, the natural backdrop of the rocky beach landscape and Passion Root’s stunning florals. A fun moment during the ceremony was when it took the officiant quite a few tries to break the ceremonial coconut open, from which both bride and groom drank from, A Hawaiian tradition. What a beautiful, unique ritual to include in a wedding!
